VP Operations: Charlie Shaw
Charlie Shaw, PMP, has over 25 years cross-cultural experience in international technology projects. He currently serves as Director, Program Management Services with INSYTE Information Services, Inc., based in Sanford, Florida, USA, and also as a Managing Director for Mutiny Enterprises, LLC, a start-up company specializing in web and mobile applications design.
The majority of Mr. Shaw's project management experience has been in the information technology and telecommunications sectors. His current focus is on the strategic application of project management principles and practices. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and has served on the Board of the Project Management Institute's Information & Telecommunications SIG since July 2002. Other professional organizations in which he is active include the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), and the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA).
With experience in senior program and project management in the U.S. and overseas, both as an employee and independent consultant, Mr. Shaw has had assignments in program and project management, functional systems analysis, international business development, and marketing support services. His international experience includes four years in Thailand working with the Thai Ministry of Defense, a two year telecom consulting engagement in Malaysia, and as a program and project manager for telecom product/service deliveries to Latin American customers. The organizations he has worked with include: The 9th Xchange; AT&T; Beach Technologies; Binariang (MAXIS) (Malaysia); Cellular One; Convergys; CTI (Puerto Rico); Intervoice-Brite; IUSACELL (Mexico); the Royal Thai Armed Forces; SINGTEL (Singapore); Sprint; U.S. West; and Verizon.
Mr. Shaw completed over 20 years in the U.S. Army, finishing his career as a Lieutenant Colonel. As a Foreign Area Officer specializing in Southeast Asian and Mid-Eastern affairs, he built a research organization responsible for production of national psychological operations studies for Mid-East and East African countries, and served as a principal staff officer for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, with responsibility for Psychological and Civil-Military Operations. Subsequently, he served two assignments in Thailand, program managing delivery of major equipment systems. He completed his military career with the U.S. Central Command, where he led the staff organization responsible for program management oversight of defense equipment deliveries, training, and logistics support to armed forces in the command's area of responsibility.
A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mr. Shaw later completed a Masters Degree in Management from Webster University, as well as numerous military and information technology courses.
