Project of the Year Program Manager: James Oni

James Oni is a Program/Project Management professional with over twenty years of experience, managing projects in IT Infrastructure/Applications, telecommunications, EPIC programs and ERP (SAP).

Currently, James Oni is a Senior Project Manager with Northwestel Inc, the only telecommunications company providing services to the entire Northern Region of Canada, whose service coverage area is more than half of Canada. In Northwestel, James is managing variety of projects from Product Developments/roll outs, Applications, Business Process Re-engineering (ITIL) and Engineering Design and Developments. James also teaches and mentor on project management and IT security.

Before joining the services of Northwestel, James worked for Shell Petroleum International for almost twenty years in various capacities from IT Services to Project Developments. James worked on many Engineering Procurement Installation and Contracts (EPIC) programs, from Tank Farm Rehabilitation, Pipe-line constructions/replacements and Crude Oil Field Logistic locations. James also worked as a Senior Consultant for some companies in Canada. James has worked in Japan, Middle East, Europe, Africa and North America.

James was educated in England to the level of PhD in Information Technology and certified as Chartered Engineer, CEng, from 1998 to 2003. He is currently a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, MIET, and Project Management Professional, PMP.
