TSIDescription: TSI will provide the following two sets of awards twice each year:

  • A Award - One Ultimate Online PMP Exam Prep Course.
  • B Award - One Online Mastering the PMBOK Guide Course.
  • C Award - One Ultimate Online CAPM Exam Prep Course.

The specifics are as follows:

  • The Ultimate Online PMP Exam Prep Course will be awarded to one IT & Telecom SIG member who is pursuing his/her PMP certification but he/she is not yet a PMP. The TSI Ultimate Online PMP Exam Prep Course is designed to provide the 35 Contact Hours required by PMI in order to apply for the PMP Exam. These hours are awarded upon successful completion of an online exam that is given by TSI after students have finished working through the material.
  • The Online Mastering the PMBOK Guide Course is for IT & Telecom SIG members who are already certified but need to earn PDUs to keep their certification current. This program covers the entire PMBOK Guide Third Edition. The course is designed to be able to award 40 education PDUs to students who complete the course and then pass the an online exam TSI gives to confirm the student's mastery of the material covered in the Online Mastering the PMBOK Guide Course.
  • The Ultimate Online CAPM Exam Prep Course will be awarded to one IT & Telecom SIG member who is pursuing his/her CAPM certification but he/she is not yet a CAPM. The TSI Ultimate Online CAPM Exam Prep Course is designed to provide the 23 Contact Hours required by PMI in order to apply for the CAPM Exam. These hours are awarded upon successful completion of an online exam that is given by TSI after students have finished working through the material.

When: One set of A, B and C awards will be awarded for the second quarter and the fourth quarter each year.

Who Can Apply: The TSI awards are open globally to any IT & Telecom SIG member pursuing continuing project management education, with the exception of elected officers of the SIG Board and volunteer staff involved in the evaluation of applications.

Next Deadlines:

The applications for the 4Q09 award must be received by midnight EST on November 30, 2009.

How to Apply: After the application form is complated, candidates shall submit the aplication form to the TSI Award Program Manager by clicking here.

Award Criteria: The applicant must submit the documents and meet criteria as follow:

  1. Must be a member of PMI and a IT & Telecom SIG member.
  2. Must be working towards a PMP or CAPM certification or be PMP certified.
    • IT & Telecom SIG member who is pursuing his/her PMP certification but he/she is not yet a PMP must provide a statement such as "Yes, I am working towards PMP designation", as well as a brief summary of current activities in which they are engaged, or have engaged to achieve PMP designation. Please, include project management courses that you have taken or in which you are enrolled, and professional development activities in which you participate. For guidance as to qualifying activities, please consult PMI's PMP Credential Handbook, available on-line at: (Link to PMI Credential Handbook).
    • IT & Telecom SIG member who is already PMP certified must provide PMP number, as well as professional development activities in which you are undertaking to maintain your certification..
    • IT & Telecom SIG member who is pursuing his/her CAPM certification must provide a statement such as "Yes, I am working towards CAPM designation", as well as a brief summary of current activities in which they are engaged, or have engaged to achieve CAPM designation. Please, include project management courses that you have taken or in which you are enrolled, and project management activities in which you participate.   3. Provide a brief essay "Why I value the PMP credential" or "Why I value the CAPM credential", as applicable.
  4. Submit a resume no longer than two pages, in 12-point font, outlining prior project management and career experience.
  5. Must be willing to have their name and photograph published in IT & Telecom SIG and TSI publications.
  6. Provide a commitment to write an article for IT & Telecom SIG publications about their TSI experience.
  7. Must express intention to volunteer in IT & Telecom SIG or other PMI component activities.
  8. Completeness and neatness of the application will be scored.
  9. Submit any additional documentation if requested by the TSI Award Committee.
